This is a Kohbar Art from Mithila Region of Bihar(India). Kohbar art is a famous art form, made during weddings, which is considered auspiscious for a happy married life of the newly wed couple. In the present picture, the bride and the bridegroom are being blessed by Lord Shiva and Parvati alongwith other goddesses and other forces of nature.

Art Style – Madhubani Painting- it’s a traditional folk art style, practiced since time immemorial in Mithila Region of Bihar in India. This style is unique due to its brilliant miniature designs, ancient origin and themes drawn mainly from Indian mythology and present day rural life. This art is practiced in villages of Madhubani and Darbhanga districts of Bihar mostly by women artists.
